WWDMAGIC'S CENTRAL HALL EMBRACES THE STYLE OF SINGER AVRIL LAVIGNE
Signing autographs and posing for pictures, a sunglass-clad Avril Lavigne rocked Central Hall at WWDMAGIC, the definitive destination for juniors' and young women's fashion. As a crowd of style-obsessed fans and fashion professionals looked on, the superstar stepped out to relaunch her self-proclaimed "rock-'n'-roll" line, Abbey Dawn.
Previously conceived as a juniors' brand for Kohl's, Lavigne chose MAGIC as the forum to reveal her spring fashions and debut her new footwear line, all now proudly under her personal control. Part skater girl and part punk princess, the line represents the singer's edgy, individualized style, showcasing tees, hoodies, hats and accessories with a focus on chunky silver, skulls and studs.
Retailer reactions today were positive, and In the words of one impressed MAGIC attendee, "Like Lavigne herself, Abbey Dawn has grown up—but thankfully not out of its bold, rebellious brand of femininity."
